I'm looking to get into Veterinary Medicine, and what better way than to learn about diseases and share it with others? That way I'm learning, and hopefully by the time I apply, I might vaguely know what being a Vet and treating or diagnosing diseases is about!
In case you're interested, here's my current work experience: (updated fairly regularly)
2 weeks mixed veterinary practice
2 weeks small animal veterinary practice
2 weeks lambing
2 days dairy farm
1 day pig farming
1 day cattle foot trimming
12 weeks (or so) over two years helping out with horses
1 day at a lab (Worm Count)
1 hour a week at an animal shelter, looking after cats (over about 6 months)
Other animal related things I've done:
5 days at Vet MedLink
Owning a snake, chickens, four rabbits, many fish, a dog and two cats (Not all at the same time, thankfully!)
